The BTC Secretariat, also known as the Bodoland Secretariat or Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA), is located in Bodofa Nwgwr, Kokrajhar. It serves as the main administrative office for the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) of Assam, India, overseeing its five districts of BTR.

The BTR Secretariat is responsible for making decisions related to education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and various welfare programs aimed at improving local livelihoods. It also plays an important role in administrative functions such as planning, budgeting, and monitoring projects focused on regional development and community welfare.

Bodoland Territorial Council

The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) is an autonomous council for the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), established under the 6th Schedule of the Indian Constitution. It was created through an agreement involving the Bodoland Liberation Tiger Force (BLTF), the Government of India, and the Government of Assam.

The area governed by BTC govt is known as the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). BTC oversees five districts: Kokrajhar, Baksa, Udalguri, Chirang, and Tamulpur.

The BTC council consists of 40 members elected from 40 constituencies (known as MCLAs) and 6 members appointed by the Governor of Assam. There are also 17 Executive Members, currently reduced to 16 following the removal of Ghanashyam Das.
