About Chirang
Chirang district in Assam is a part of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) of Assam, with its headquarters in Kajalgaon.
The district was created on 30 October 2003, under the Sixth Schedule, and officially began functioning on 4 June 2004, after being carved out from the Bongaigaon district.
