In the year 1985, the Kaziranga park was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Kaziranga park is famous for the one-horn rhino. Over the time as the numbers of tiger has increased in kaziranga it has been declared as Tiger Reserve in 2006.

The 2 National park in Assam is Manas national Park. It was established in the year 1990. It covers 500 sq.km area. The Park is located in the Himalayan foothills, it borders the Royal Manas National Park in Bhutan, Assam Partly lies in Chirang and Baksa district of BTR region. 

Manas National Park is the largest National park of Assam with an area of 500 sq. km. The second one is Kaziranga National Park.

The 5 National National park in Assam is Orang National Park. It was established in 13 April 1999 vide notification no. FRW/28/90/154. It coves 78.81 sq.km. The Orang National Park is located in Darrang and Sonitpur districts of Assam.

Rajiv Gandhi Orang park is famous for the one-horn rhino and royal bengal tiger. It is the 49th Tiger Reserve declared on 24 February 2016 by National Tiger Conservation Authority. Orang National Park is the smallest national park in Assam.

On the date 4th Oct 2024 the CM of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has twitted on the X platform that the area of Orang National Park has now increased manifolds and is directly linked with Kaziranga and the Burha-Chapori WS, creating an unhindered 180-km-long protected area for our animals to thrive.
